WOMEN MARINERS

Gain your confidence on the water!

Course Modules

This is an exclusive Women Mariner course designed to get women behind the helm and enjoy the boating lifestyle. The classes are taught by U.S. Coast Guard licensed captains that have been certified as Instructors through The National Safe Boating Council.

These small group seminars, for women only, are designed to build confidence by presenting information in an active, fun, and supportive environment. Each four to five-hour class is split in two parts: a classroom session and a practical, on-water session. The laid back approach we take to educating female boaters helps to build confidence that they can be the captain of their own ship - no matter how large or small their boat may be.

Eligibility

Prior to taking the course, students are required to complete a NASBLA-approved online boating safety course as well as meet the legal requirements of the state where the course is being held. Find a course in your state in the NASBLA Approved Courses dashboard, including courses provided by our partners, BoatUS Foundation

Course Verification

The content of this course conforms to the American National Standard for on-water skills as verified through an independent third-party assessment process. It is imperative that the curriculum is adhered to; there can be no modifications or variations as that would change the course verification.

Recognized by the American National Standards Institute as American National Standards, the On-Water Power, On-Water Sailing, and On-Water Human-Propelled standards identify fundamental skills that entry level recreational boat operators should be able to demonstrate after receiving instruction. More information about these standards can be found at www.abycinc.org or www.usnows.org.
